Nothing shows up though, and when I open up 'Devices and Printers' it shows the item, but then has the warning symbol and says I have to troubleshoot. With all four things I am trying to use it always comes up saying it can't figure it out what is wrong, but then when I open up the properties they all say 'This device is not configured correctly. I have been trying to fix this for about a year now, and I have used the drivers on all the different items websites, and followed all instructions they have about this on what to do for my operating system. Nothing works. I haven't messed with the computer at all, since this began to happen after my friend did an OS wipe for me. (I had a rootkit.) Why the OS wipe? The problem was most likely in the properties of the device. Right click the device, go to the bottom of the new menu, and check there. If the device came with an installation disc, you may need to install it again. If an old device, it may not be supported any longer. For the printer, look through the set-up section to see if it is listed. Do other devices the same way.

Be sure to check for the device compatability with Windows 7. You may have to instruct the OS to run in a different compatability mode.
